  • Public life in nine districts in the Eastern Nepal has been seriously affected due to the general strike called by the Federal Limbuwan State Council.

The most affected sector is public transport. Passengers have not been able to travel through Mechi and Koshi highways since there are no vehicles on the road.

The Council’s chief demands include the immediate formation of a state restructuring commission and the dissolution of the state restructuring ministry.

The current state restructuring ministry is headed by Maoist leader Gopal Kirant, also from the indigenous community based in the Eastern Nepal.
