Citizens withdraw their protests following an agreement with government

  • Citizens protesting against the murder of two children have withdrawn their protest programs following an agreement between the home administration and the Citizens’ Struggle Committee in Kathmandu today. Prime Minister Prachanda and Home Minister Bamdev Gautam themselves were present while the agreement was signed between

     

    According to the agreement, the government will form a judicial investigation team to look into the murder case and present the findings within five days.

     

    Following the discovery on Wednesday of the dead bodies of Ashish Manandhar and Ritesh Rauniyar of Kathmandu missing from November 15, vital areas of Kathmandu saw a series of major protests on Thursday though some sporadic protests were also seen on Friday morning.
