  • A severe scarcity of doctors and blood  has been reported at Achham District Hospital.

Locals have complained that the district hospital has been advising patients to go to other hospitals for examination and treatment.

Sharada Khati, 35, was asked to go to Dadeldhura for treatment. But her financially vulnerable family members were unable to afford it.

Sharada's husband Dhimbul said, "I am unable to take my wife to Dadeldhura."
Achham District Hospital refused to treat Sharada, pregnant, stating that there were no doctors and blood for the purpose.

Janakraj Dhungana, Acting Chief of the hospital, showed his problem, "The Blood Transfusion Centre is inactive since nobody donates blood."

Similarly, hospital staff members complain that there are no doctors at the hospital.
