  • Maoist leader and Minister for Justice and Constituent Assembly Dev Gurung on Monday said that the Maoist Central Committee meeting would debate on the issue of People’s Republic that would ultimately be finalized by the national party conference.

Speaking at Reporters Club in Kathmandu, Gurung said that the Nepali Congress (NC) must join the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) though the task would proceed even if the NC remains adamant.

Gurung noted the 100 days of the government as comparatively successful. Referring to the recently approved Constituent Assembly regulations, he expressed his confidence that necessary bases for drafting the new constitution have already been prepared.

In response to journalists’ queries regarding an attack on the Himal Media, he assured them that the guilty would not escape.
