Maoists must not hurt Nepali Army: Madhav Nepal

  • Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) former General Secretary of has accused both the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN-Maoist) and the Nepali Congress (NC) of trying to derail the very process of army integration by drawing various extremist arguments.

    Warning that it might disturb the peace process, he has urged both the parties to give up the extremist tendency of argument.

    Nepal, who is Biratnagar now, added, “Our party will not accept effort to hurt the Nepali Army.”

    He said that a politically trained party activist cannot be a candidate of the top post in the national army.

    Nepal elaborated, “No one can become chief commander in the army so easily. I urge them not to think of it at all.”

    He also expressed his concern over the implementation of the past agreements between Maoists and other parties.
