  • Bir Hospital, also known as Nepal’s health headquarters, has halted on the second day with a demand of their Vice-Chancellor’s resignation and a raise in employees’ salaries.

Doctors and other health employees have completely stopped their medical services except in the Emergency section.

Hundreds of OPD patients were seen returning hopelessly as they saw almost all doctors and nurses in the hospital courtyard in protest against the hospital administration.

Doctors and nurses have warned that they would be compelled to go on an indefinite strike if the administration does not meet their demand in time.

While most of the doctors and nursing staff were in protest outside the hospital, some lady sweepers were seen sitting and smoking freely in a passage of the third floor.

Piles of feces could be seen on the floor of toilets.

Bir Hospital is a government-owned hospital in Kathmandu.
